Clifton & Hotwells Improvement Society
-
CHIS was founded in 1968, with the aims of improving amenities, preserving the best features and maintaining the quality of life within the area. With a millennium grant at the start of this century they undertook valuable work in the churchyard and along Birdcage Walk, painting the fences, improving access by inserting gates, and planting shrubs and trees. (There is a record of this work on their old website at https://archive.cliftonhotwells.org.uk/chis_st_andrews.html - last updated about 2012)
